and I don’t have to go outside to notice it. Some time ago I bought some 1-wire sensors and a 1-Wire to Ethernet Server.

This week I finally found the time to add them to my monitoring system using thisplugin .

Using check_mk and mrpe integrating the plugin was quite easy. I just had to add

TEMP-BL /usr/local/nagios-plugins/check_eds_tempprobe.py -H 1-wire -p 2 -w 26 -c 30

to the mrpe.cfg on my home server.

And I even get pictures:

Now I only have to cleanup my cabling and find a good position for the outside sensor.

Some SPAM went through my filter with ***SPAM*** as subject. I think that’s a great idea. Like the evil bit in IPv4. On the other hand a mail from a networking company (the one starting with J) got 6.8 points from spamassassin.
